Monster dude

Critique me, I suck at monsters
For a digipainting, the torso's, right arm and part of the left arm is going to be 3D like while the rest will be flat.

Its a shadow monster that latches onto some losers shadow, its an energy drainer and gets bigger and bigger as it lives on the guy, and it eventually can leave its host.

  1. wtf dani this is super cool you just need to push it more. Frig this is so fun; so fun in fact i did this: http://lh3.ggpht.com/_kyuBN4GsaYo/TM1G-kJH00I/AAAAAAAAIdQ/on4Bhl111Vw/Untitled-1.jpg

scrap the tail - if it's going to have a tail or something it should relate to the shadow of the dude.

that head is cool: try bring the face out of the brick work.

tie the leg positions to the shadow of the guy.

bring the other hand out as well it'll make it more threatening and more like the shadow monster is going to snatch him.

when you go to paint go for rock tendrils, keep it brick like not furry ... also try to tie the brick work into the sense structure of the creatures torso and where it would have joints and bones.
